TINIYAK ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. na hindi niya haharangin ang anumang aksyon na magbibigay ng bagong prangkisa sa natigil na operasyon ng broadcasting network giant na ABS-CBN.
Paliwanag ni Marcos na nabigo ang ABS-CBN na makakuha ng bagong prankisa dahil sa mga teknikal na isyu at hindi dahil napulitika ito.
“So long as those [technical issues] are attended to and those are resolved, there’s no reason actually for the Committee of Franchises in the House to deny them of franchise,” ayon kay Marcos.
Natigil ang broadcast operations ng ABS-CBN noong Mayo 2020 matapos ang cease-and-desist order ng National Telecommunications Commission (NTC).
Noong Hulyo 2020, ni-reject ng House Committee on Legislative Franchises ng ABS-CBN dahil sa ilang isyu, kabilang ang umano’y citizenship ng ABS-CBN chairman emeritus Eugenio Lopez III.
