P39/kilo rice available in Metro

THE Kadiwa ng Pangulo (KNP) initiative is offering rice at a discounted price of P39 per kilo in Metro Manila, alongside a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables.

The City Agriculture Office of Las Piñas announced on social media that well-milled rice at P39 per kilo is available today at the Kadiwa held at the Verdant Covered Court in Brgy. Pamplona Tres.

Residents are invited to join the KNP in selected Metro Manila cities to support local farmers and enjoy fresh produce, including vegetables, fruits, and rice priced at P39.00 per kilo.

The Department of Agriculture (DA) has also encouraged Metro Manila residents to take advantage of the opportunity to purchase products at the KNP, which is ongoing throughout the month across various locations in the National Capital Region (NCR).

The KNP is accessible to the public on April 16-17, 2024, at different venues in Taguig City Hall, Valenzuela City, and Manila City Hall Inner Court, according to a statement released by the Presidential Communications Office (PCO).

Additionally, on April 19, the KNP will be available at the ROMVI Subdivision covered court in Parañaque City, followed by another venue in the city on April 20.

Recent sales figures show significant interest in rice, with total sales reaching millions of pesos across different barangays and cities in Metro Manila.

The KNP aims to support farmers and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) by providing rent-free selling areas, ensuring fair access to fresh produce for all residents.

Organized by various government agencies, including the DA, DTI, DSWD, DOLE, and DILG, the KNP is spearheaded by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. (Gilbert Perdez)
