HINDI man kumpleto ang mga presidential at vice presidential candidates sa ginawang debate ng Commission on Elections (Comelec), sinabi nito na naging matagumpay ang unang serye ng debate na kanilang inorganisa.
“It is not perfect but highly successful. Let us focus on those who are present and the things that they said and will be doing for the country,” sinabi ni Comelec Commissioner George Garcia.
“We made the invitation and the magnificent nine arrived. How can we even ask for more?” dagdag pa niya.
Sa presidential debate sa Sofitel Tent sa Pasay City nitong Sabado, dumalo ang lahat ng presidential bets maliban kay dating Senador Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
Dumalo sina Ernesto Abella, Leody de Guzman, Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso, Norberto Gonzales, Panfilo Lacson, Emmanuel Pacquiao, Faisal Mangondato, Jose Montemayor Jr., at Vice President Leni Robredo.
Nagkaroon din ng Vice-Presidential Debates ang Comelec nitong Marso 20. Hindi ito dinaluhan ni Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte at ng bagong kakaopera pa lamang na si Rep. Lito Atienza.
Magkakaroon din ng pangalawang Presidential Debates sa Abril 3.
