PANSAMANTALANG isasara ang Senado sa Lunes, Agosto 22 para bigyang daan ang disinfection matapos magpositibo sa COVID-19 ang pitong senador at ilang mga empleyado rito.
Aabot na sa pitong senador ang nagpositibo sa COVID-19 simula nang magbukas ang 19th Congress, kabilang dito sina Sen. Imee Marcos, Cynthia Villar, Alan Peter Cayetano, Grace Poe at kamakailan ay sina Sen. Joel Villanueva, Nancy Binay at JV Ejercito.
“I have instructed the Secretariat to conduct a thorough cleaning and disinfection of all Senate offices,” sinabi ni Zubiri.
“For this reason, there will be a total lockdown of our Senate building and all Senate employees shall work from home and need not report to the Senate on Monday (22 August 2022). Senate sessions will resume on Tuesday (23 August 2022),” dagdag pa niya.
Ang Senado ay nagsasagawa ng mga pagdinig at sesyon sa isang hybrid na setup upang makalahok ang mga senador na tinamaan ng COVID.
