IBINASURA ng Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) ngayong Biyernes ang petisyon na humihiling para itaas ng P1 ang singil sa pamasahe dahil sa sunod-sunod na pagtaas ng presyo ng proktong petrolyo.
Sa isang kalatas, sinabi ng LTFRB na hindi nito mapagbibigyan ang petisyon ng iba’t ibang transport group gaya ng 1-Utak, Pasang Masda, ALDTODAP, at ACTO. Mananatili sa P9 ang minimum na pasahe.
“While it recognizes the present clamor of stakeholders in public land transportation services for necessary action relative to fare rates, they cannot be insensitive to the plight of Filipinos every time an increase on the prices of the commodities occurs, as a domino effect to the grant of fare increase,” ayon sa LTFRB.
Una nang nagsalita si Transportation Secretary Art Tugade na hindi siya payag sa dagdag pasahe dahil meron naman umanong ayuda at subsidiyang ibibigay ang pamahalaan para sa mga driver ng pampublikong sasakyan.
“The LTFRB has started crediting fuel subsidies in the amount of P6,500 to PUVs and will continue distributing subsidies until the end of March to 377,433 beneficiaries,” ayon sa LTFRB.
Umaabot na sa P700 milyon na fuel subsidy ang ibinigay sa mga PUVs.
