OSCAR-NOMINATED actor George Segal passed away on Wednesday in Santa Rosa, California. He was 87.
His wife, Sonia Segal, confirmed the death of her husband due to complications after undergoing bypass surgery.
“The family is devastated to announce that this morning George Segal passed away due to complications from bypass surgery,” Mrs. Segal said.
George was a regular on ABC’s The Goldbergs. His last episode is set to release on April 7.
He used to be a mainstay of another ABC-produced series Murphy’s Law; the 1987 CBS comedy Take Five; TV Land sitcom Retired and the 1966 Edward Albee’s Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?.
