Facebook, Google dapat habulin, pagbayarin ng tax – Salceda

DESIDIDO si House committee on ways and means chairman Joey Salceda na habulin ang Facebook at Google, na sinabi niyang hindi nagbabayad ng buwis sa gobyerno.

Ito ay kasabay ng muling pagsusulong ni Salceda ng panukalang Digital Economy Taxation Act na magpapataw ng buwis sa digital services na kinabibilangan ng “advertising, subscription-based services, and other online services that can be delivered through the internet” na kinukonsiderang “VAT-able”.

“I am making sure that I catch them … They earn P54 million (annually) combined but they are not paying the government even a single cent (centavo),” ayon kay Salceda.

“Anything under the TRAIN law that is not exempted is considered covered, so I don’t even have to pass the law,” dagdag ni Salceda.
