NAGPAHAYAG ng pagkabahala ang Food and Drug Administration (FDA) sa nagaganap na bentahan ng bakuna kontra Covid-19.
Ayon kay FDA director general Eric Domingo, nagsasagawa na sila ng hiwalay na imbestigasyon para malaman kung ang mga ibinebentang bakuna ay bahagi ng suplay ng gobyerno o ini-smuggle sa bansa.
“We are now tracing the source of the vaccine as we have record of all the batches of the vaccines procured by the government and arrived in the country,” sabi ni Domingo.
Nitong Biyernes ay inaresto ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) si Alexis de Guzman, nurse ng Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center, sa buy-bust operation.
Nakuha kay de Guzman ang P1 milyong halaga ng Sinovac vaccine.
Tiniyak ni Domingo na makakasuhan ang nurse.
“We just need to determine if it was part of the government procurement or it was smuggled. Either way, the suspect is facing charges, including illegal sale of the vaccine,” dagdag ng opisyal. –WC
