ITINENGGA pa rin ng Commission on Appointments ang promosyon ni Brig. General Ranulfo Sevilla matapos itong akusahan ng kanyang misis ng domestic violence.
Si Sevilla na kasalukuyang deputy commander ng Armed Forces of the Philippines- Special Operations Command (AFP-SOC) ay inakusahan ng kanyang misis na si Tess Luz Aura Reyes-Sevilla ng physical abuse at infidelity, dahilan para i-defer ng komite ang promosyon ng heneral.
Ayon sa misis, bukod sa pambubugbog, P2,000 lamang anya ang ibinibigay ng mister para sa kanilang dalawang anak. Lantaran din anyang idinidispley nito ang kanyang mistress sa AFP camp.
“He does not deserve to be a general because it is my belief that a general should be accountable to the people. He is the kind of person who oppressed the mother of his children. He does not deserve to be promoted,” ayon sa misis sa pagharap nito sa komite.
Binatikos din ng misis ang AFP sa tila pagbubulga-bulagan at pagkonsinti sa ginagawa ng mister.
Tumanggi naman ang heneral na magbigay ng kanyang komento dahil sa gag order dahil sa kasong kinakaharap.
“I can no longer stay silent. No amount of sorry or money will make me back down. We deserve to be vindicated,” dagdag pa nito.
“To the gentlemen of the AFP, I hope you are hearing this: look into the sad life of the wives or partners of your men in the AFP. I have lost trust in the AFP,” anya pa.
