IKINALUNGKOT ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos ang pagiging mababa ng Pilipinas sa mga kursong may kaugnayan sa Science, Technology, Engineering at Mathematics (STEM).
“It is unfortunate that the Philippines, when we are graded amongst other countries, we do not do very well at all, especially when it comes to ‘yung STEM courses na tinatawag,” sinabi ni Marcos sa kanyang talumpati sa 8th Balik Science Convention.
Kasabay nito, inatasan ni Marcos ang Department of Science and Technology (DOST) na gumawa ng mga hakbang para mahikayat ang mga kabataan na kumuha ng kurso na may kaugnayan sa science at technology.
“Let us change — let us turn that around. And the Balik Scientist Program will have a very important part to play because we can always present to our young people, our young student, look at this Filipino who has made a name for themself, and who has done a lot of good work, and his or her good work has helped very, very many people, you can do this too,” dagdag ni Marcos.
