PUMANAW ang dating intelligence chief ng Armed Forces of the Philippines na si Gen. Victor Corpuz ngayong Huwebes, Abril 4, 2024, sa dead na 79.
“It is with great sorrow that we announce the untimely passing of our uncle Victor Corpus,” ayon sa post ng kanyang pamangkin na si Jennies Cruz sa Facebook.
“We would like to request our relatives and friends to join us in prayer, for the repose of the soul of our beloved and to ask God for comfort for the bereaved family. We value your prayers among anything else,” ayon pa rito.
Nagsilbi si Corpus bilang hepe ng Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (ISAFP) noong panahon ng administrasyon ni dating Pangulong Gloria Arroyo.
Nakilala si Corpus dahil sa ginawa nitong pag-defect sa Communist Party of the Philippines, tatlong taon matapos siyang magtapos sa Philippine Military Academy noong 1967.
Umalis din siya sa kilusan matapos ang 10 taon at nakulong. Pinalaya matapos mapatalsik si dating Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos noong 1986, at ginawaran ng clemency ni dating Pangulong Cory Aquino dahilan para makabalik sa AFP noong 1987.
