Cavite City LGU employees voice out complaints over uniform

CAVITE City Hall employees are up in arms over what they describe as overpriced, ugly, smelly uniforms.

According to them, the supposed ‘clothing committee’ or body in charge of providing uniforms for the employees never gave them any idea as to what kind of uniforms they will be provided with.

The uniforms are paid through the employees’ clothing allowance.

The employees further said that when their measurements were taken, they were told that they will be wearing first-class quality uniforms. The design was not shown to them either.

They said they were surprised when their uniforms arrived a few months after. The sizes didn’t fit. The uniforms were made of very thin fabric. They fear the cloth may break after a few washing.

Speaking of washing, the employees also noted a different kind of stink when they tried on their newly-made uniforms. They said the stink was too bad that not even a couple of washing was able to make it go away.

On top of all these, the employees claimed they saw the same kind of uniforms being sold in Lazada for P389 only. The said price is for a single blouse or polo.

This made the employees more disgusted since they were being charged P5,000 for their uniforms,

They alleged that from their P6,000 clothing allowance, they were made to sign a document consenting to the deduction of P5,000 to cover the expenses for their uniforms and that they were told that if they do not sign, they will not be able to get the remaining P1,000.

According to the employees, they were left with no other choice but to sign even if they have either not received the full number of pairs of uniforms or had not received any at all.

A ranking official was said to have warned those who will go against the wishes of higher authorities that they will be assigned to ‘Corregidor’ which is why they followed with their eyes closed.

I am certain that the city mayor is not aware of this or will ever consent to this kind of wrongdoing.

Clearly, though, there is a need for the city mayor to order an investigation into the allegations aired out by the employees and for actions to be taken if proven to be true and warranted since this will reflect badly on his administration.

Now true or not, this column is open for the side of the Cavite LGU…                                                                                                        ***

Joke (from Christopher Alipio of Batangas City)

MOM: Anak, tawagan mo nga tatay mo, tanungin mo bakit wala pa siya hanggang ngayon.

PEDRO: Sige po nay! (maya-maya pa…) ‘Nay!! Babae po ang sumagot!

MOM: Lintek!!! Sabi ko na nga ba at may tinatago ‘yang tatay mo, eh! Anong sabi nung babae?

PEDRO: Ang sabi po, “You only have one peso in your account.” Hindi ko na tinapos, ‘nay, mukhang matapobre, eh! Nag-iingles pa siya andaming sinasabi. Di ko na alam kung ano isasagot ko eh kaya sinabi ko na lang na ingatan niya si Itay.
