SASAILALIM sa masusing lifestyle check ang mga heneral at full colonel na nagsumite ng kanilang courtesy signation, ayon kay PNP Chief General Rodolfo Azurin Jr.
Si Azurin na nagsumite rin ng kanyang resignation ay kabilang sa isasama sa lifestyle check bilang bahagi ng isinasagawang imbestigasyon ng five-man committee na inatasan na magbusisi sa mga opisyal ng PNP kung dapat na tanggapin ang kanilang resignation o hindi.
Taon-taon ay isinasailalim ang mga tauhna ng PNP sa lifestyle check base na rin sa ipinaiiral na batas na Republic Act 3019 o ang Anti-Graft and Corruption Practices Act, at RA 6713 o “Act Establishing a Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees.”
“As of now we need to ask the members of the committee about the other procedures to be undertaken, but definitely that would be part of the investigation or inquiry that will be conducted by the committee to assess and evaluate all third-level officers,” ayon kay Azurin.
Samantala, aabot na sa 70 porsyento ng mga police general at colonel ang nakapagsumite na ng kanilang courtesy resignation.
