EASTER Sunday will be warm and humid in most parts of the country while there will be isolated rain showers in some parts due to the easterlies, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
In its advisory, the weather bureau said Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will experience the easterlies or warm winds from the east.
Pagasa said Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the combined effects of the easterlies and localized thunderstorms.
It warned the public against possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
It has not issued gale warning as Northern Luzon will experience only light to moderate winds heading east to southeast while the rest of the country will have light to moderate winds from the east to northeast with slight to moderate seas.
The temperature in Metro Manila will range from 24°C to 34°C; Baguio City, 17°C to 26°C; Laoag City, 25°C to 33⁰C; Legazpi City, 23°C to 32°C; Metro Cebu, 26°C to 31°C; Puerto Princesa City, 25°C to 34°C; and Metro Davao, 24°C to 34°C.
PAGASA advised the public to limit outdoor activities as the heat index is forecast to reach dangerous levels or up to 43 degrees Celsius particularly in Catarman, Northern Samar and Dagupan City, Pangasinan on Sunday.
A 42 degrees Celsius heat index categorized also as dangerous will be experienced in Pasay City, Science Garden in Quezon City; MMSU in Batac, Ilocos Norte province; Aparri, Cagayan province; Puerto Princesa City and Aborlan in Palawan; Iloilo City and Dumangas in Iloilo province; and Butuan City in Agusan del Norte.
