REY Blanco, younger brother of Rivermaya frontman Rico Blanco, has passed away at the age of 50.
In a Facebook post on Wednesday, May 15, Rey’s daughter, Daniela Blanco, confirmed that her father died on Tuesday, May 14.
“Our Daddy King has peacefully joined our Creator. We love you always and forever, dad. Like you always say: Thank you, love you,” she wrote.
Daniela said the wake will be held starting today, May 15, at Heaven’s Park in Biñan, Laguna, while the interment is scheduled on May 20 at Everest Hills Memorial Park in Muntinlupa.
Just recently, Rico asked for prayers for Rey, who had been diagnosed with an “advanced and very aggressive type of squamous cell carcinoma,” a form of skin cancer.
