ISINIWALAT ni Miss Universe Singapore na dalawang araw lang ginawa ng isang Filipino designer ang inirampa niyang national costume.
Ayon kay Bernadette Belle Ong, proud siya sa kanyang kobtrobersyal na gown.
“Can you believe that this was made in only two days? I reached out to Filipino designer Arwin Meriales to create a design of my own and he executed!” kwento ni Ong na ipinanganak at lumaki sa Pasay City.
“When he offered to get Paulo Espinosa to hand paint something at the back I knew straight away that it had to be about the movement revolving racial spite and prejudice!” dagdag ng beauty queen.
Ayon pa kay Bernadette, isang malaking panalo na niya na maipahayag ang mensahe na “Stop Asian Hate.”
