NAIS ni Senador Sonny Angara na ipa-convert ang mga quarantine facility bilang mga evacuation center.
Ito anya ay dahil maraming quarantine facility na ginamit sa kasagsagan ng pandemya ang ngayon ay hindi na nagagamit at nasasayang lang.
“We want to see the utilization rate of these facilities and I suspect that many of them are no longer being utilized now,” ayon kay Angara.
“We can put them to good use by converting them as evacuation centers for families affected by the typhoons that hit our country several times in a year,” dagdag pa ni Angara.
Aniya, ang pag-convert sa mga pasilidad na ito para gawing evacuation center ay higit na makakatulong sa mga nasalanta ng kalamidad.
Bukod pa rito ay makakaligtas din ang mga paaralan na kadalasan ay ginagawang mga evacuation center para sa mga indibidwal na naapektuhan ng bagyo.
“Instead of suspending classes indefinitely after a storm hits a locality, having these isolation facilities available for use by the displaced families, together with the multi-purpose courts or gymnasiums, will spare the schools and ensure the continuous education of our students,” giit ni Angara.
Sinabi rin ni Angara na ang mga kaso ng COVID-19 ay bumababa at karaniwang naghohome quarantine ang mga pasyente na may mild symptoms.
