PINAYAGAN na ni Pangulong Duterte ang operasyon ng casino sa Boracay.
“The President has given his go-signal allowing the operation of a casino in Boracay,” ayon sa kalatas na inilabas ni Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque Sabado ng hapon.
“Prior to this directive, casino establishments have not been operating on the island,” paliwanag ni Roque.
Gayunman, sinabi ni Roque na patuloy at mahigpit na ipatutupad ang health at safety protocols sa mga casino sa gitna nang patuloy na pananalasa ng coronavirus disease.
Giit ni Roque, pinayagan ng pangulo ang operasyon ng mga casino sa isla para makadagdag ng kita sa pamahalaan lalo na ngayon na kailangan ng pondo para sa Covid-19 response.
“This latest presidential pronouncement is part of the revenue-generating efforts of the government to augment funds for COVID-19 response,” dagdag ni Roque.
