NILAGDAAN na bilang ganap na batas ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos ang SIM Card Registration Act ngayong Lunes.
“With the signing of this act, we will finally achieve what has long been overdue, an effective means of regulating the issuance of sim cards to curb the spread of spam text messages and scams,” sabi na Marcos sa kanyang talumpati.
Sa ilalim ng SIM Card Registration Act, kailangan nang magprisinta ng valid identification documents ang mga bibili ng SIM card.
“We will soon be able to provide law enforcement agencies with the tools needed to resolve crimes perpetrated with the use of these SIM Cards, as well as providing a strong deterrence against the commission of wrongdoing,” dagdag ni Marcos.
Idinagdag ni Marcos na kailangang ding magkaroon ng SIM Card Register ng mga telecommunications companies.
“So, I commend the legislators from the House and from the Senate for coming up with this timely and necessary law. It is the first legislative measure that successfully passed the approval of the bicameral panel of both houses in the 19th Congress,” ayon pa kay Marcos.
Idinagdag ni Marcos na magandang balita ito para sa maraming Pinoy, sa harap naman ng ulat hinggil sa iba’t ibang krimen gamit ang mobile phone, kasama na ang text scam at spam.
