TULOY ang deal ng Pilipinas sa Russia para sa pag-angkat ng 17 units ng Mi17 helicopters, ayon kay Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana.
“The heavy lift helicopter procurement project with Russia is on track,” ayon kay Lorenzana.
Tiniyak ni Lorenzana na magtutuloy-tuloy ang kontrata lalo pa’t pirmado na ito at nakapag-downpayment na rin ang Pilipinas nitong Enero.
“The contract was signed and the down payment were done before the Ukraine crisis happened. It is a multi year procurement contract and the delivery of the first batch will be in 24 months. Will the Ukraine crisis affect the project? Only time will tell,” paliwanag ni Lorenzana
“The contract was signed last November and down payment was made last January. No, we do not see any likelihood of being scrapped as of this moment.”
Gayunman, umaasa umano ang Pilipinas na matatapos agad ang gulo sa pagitan ng Russia at Ukraine.
