SINABI ni House committee on appropriations chairman at Ako Bicol Party-list Rep. Zaldy Co na titiyakin ng contingent ng Kamara sa bicameral committee conference na tumatalakay sa P5.268 trilyong national budget na magiging repleksyon ng eight-point socio-economic agenda ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos ang ipapasang General Appropriations Act.
“Both Congress and the Senate adopted the Medium-term Fiscal Framework prior to the budget deliberations. Ito ang magiging guide post namin sa pag-finalize ng budget,” sabi ni Co.
Nagsimulang talakayin ng bicameral conference committee Manila Golf Club sa Makati City ngayong Biyernes ang panukalang 2023 national budget para ayusin ang hindi magkaparehong bersyon na ipinasa ng Kamara at Senado.
“In the end, the final version will be one that best supports the President’s 8-point socio-economic agenda. We envision the final version as a budget that creates jobs, keeps the macroeconomy stable, and helps keep inflation within a manageable range,” dagdag ni Co.
Kampante rin si Co na maipapasa ang budget bago ang kapaskuhan.
“Although may mga disagreeing provisions, and I believe amounting to about P215 billion worth of increases in budget items, sa tingin ko naman mabilis na makaka-agree ang House at ang Senado dahil meron tayo, for the first time, inadopt natin ‘yung Medium Term Fiscal Framework na ito na naglalaman ng Eight Point Socio Economic Agenda ng ating Pangulo. So ‘yan ang magiging guiding posts ng House at ng Senate. And in the end, ang maipapasa natin na version ay siyang pinaka-magandang susuporta dito sa ating agenda,” sabi naman ni Marikina Rep. Stella Quimbo, na siyang senior vice chairman ng panel.
Bukod kina Co at Quimbo, kabilang sa mga miyembro ng House contingent ay sina Rep. Ralph Recto, Aurelio Gonzales Jr., Mannix Dalipe, Ferdinand Alexander “Sandro” Marcos, Jay-Jay Suarez, Neptali Gonzales II, Joboy Aquino II, Raul Angelo Bongalon, Eleandro Jesus Madrona, Michael John Duavit, Marcelino Libanan at Edcel Lagman.
