“We are private citizens and we appeal to all of you to respect our privacy as individuals. My family has endured so much from this whole ordeal already and we only wish to be granted respect and peace,” aniya.

“I have seen how recent events have affected my family, particularly my parents, and my only hope is that you spare them from the anguish of having to deal with all this hatred. Mental health is an issue I take seriously and I hope people understand the kind of pain and alienation that negative comments can have towards a family that has done nothing to harm anyone,” dagdag ni Magno.

“I would like to reiterate that her personal opinion and stand on matters concerning national interest do not reflect our views as a family or even myself,” sabi pa ni Magno.

Hirit pa niya: We appeal to the public not to malign the integrity of our family especially our dear parents. We want to clarify that we have absolutely no intention of participating in the public discourse involving my sister, nor do we wish to engage with all the malicious and hateful comments that have emerged from this — whether they were made by my sister or by the viewing public.

“My family, particularly the ones who live in the same household DID NOT contract Covid. We understand the importance of people’s safety and health and we promise you that no one among us, especially the ones who are always present and hands on in any of our restaurants, have been afflicted with the virus,” aniya. –A.
