SINABI ni Senator Panfilo Lacson na plano niyang magretiro na sa politika sakaling matalo sa eleksyon sa pagkapangulo sa Mayo 9.
“This is my last run. I’ve been in the government for 50 years, if I don’t make it… peace and quiet are the two precious rewards in human life. I will retire and live in peace,” pahayag ni Lacson.
May isa pa sanang termino si Lacson para tumakbo bilang senador, ngunit mas pinili nitong sumabak sa pinakamataas na posisyon.
“I have another term in the Senate, modesty aside I could easily make it to the Magic 12… But I chose the pinnacle…,”dagdag ni Lacson.
Idinagdag ni Lacson na ibinigay niya ang lahat sa pagseserbisyo sa bayan.
“I will happily leave the government, happily leave the public service. Happy with the thought that what I did was self-fulfilling. I did my best in serving the public,” aniya.
