Candidates should hire workers in campaign

The coercive ‘no vaccine, no ride’, ‘no vaccine, no entry’, and ‘no vaccine, no work’ policies and the cost of testing on workers also contributed largely to the joblessness in the labor market.

However, I see a potential slight recovery of employment if local and national candidates hire staff and personnel to run their campaign and all those running for public office to purchase their campaign collaterals and services locally.

I urge national and local candidates to hire their campaign staff and personnel and spend their campaign money in locally manufactured products and services in helping create direct and indirect jobs.

In the campaign and election-related activities, I am seeing a rise in hiring of political coordinators and social media communications and multi-media and production personnel, digital and IT, transport and logistics, visual artists, and printing and design and food manufacturing services among others.

According to the Commission on Elections (Comelec), there are 260 candidates vying for President, Vice-President, Senatorial and Partylists national positions and 18,000 local aspirants running for district representatives, governors, vice-governors, provincial and city/municpal board members nationwide.
