MARAMING bansa sa Europa ang naghahanap ng overseas Filipino workers, ayon sa Department of Migrant Workers (DMW).
“We were told that the demand for OFWs is all over Europe,” ayon kay Migrant Workers Undersecretary Patricia Yvonne Caunan kamakailan.
Ilan sa mga bansa ang naghahanap ng OFWs ay ang Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, Finland, Denmark and Portugal.
Ilan sa mga trabahong hinahanap ng mga bansang nabanggit ay mga healthcare workers, caregivers, household workers, housekeepers, workers sa tourism-related industries, barista at iba pa.
Ayon kay Cauanan sa Czech Republic pa lang ay 10,500 posisyon na ang hinahanap nito para sa mga Filipino.
Noong 2023, may 2,000 Pinoy ang natanggap sa trabaho sa nasabing bansa.
Sa Hungary, may 4,000 Pinoy ang natanggap sa trabaho sa nakalipas na 10 taon, at 6,000 ay na-hire noong 2023.
“They were impressed with the performance of our workers, their mentality and attitude. That’s what our bilateral partners usually tell us. They said they want more OFWs,” ayon sa opisyal.
