INIREKOMENDA ng Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) ang pananatili ng fishing ban sa mga lugar na apektado ng oil spill.
Idinagdag ng BFAR na-detect ang low-level polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) sa mga sinuring isda.
“PAH accumulation was observed in samples collected from the municipalities of Bongabong and San Teodoro; however, there is currently no sufficient data showing an increasing trend,” sabi ng BFAR.
“In light of these developments, the DA-BFAR recommends keeping fishing bans in oil spill-hit municipalities in Oriental Mindoro since the analyses are not yet conclusive evidence as far as food safety is concerned,” ayon pa sa BFAR.
