Rainy Monday in several parts of PH

SEVERAL areas of the country will experience rains caused by three weather systems, the weather bureau said Monday.

The shear line will bring scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms across Cordillera Administrative Region, mainland Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Aurora, Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, and Albay, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its bulletin issued at 4 a.m.

Scattered rains and thunderstorms caused by the easterlies are also forecast in Caraga, Davao Region, Northern Mindanao, Soccsksargen, Eastern Samar, Leyte, and Southern Leyte.

Flash floods or landslides are possible in those areas due to moderate to at times heavy rains, the same PAGASA advisory warned.

Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon or “amihan” will bring isolated light rains over Batanes and Babuyan Islands. In contrast, isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by the shear line will prevail over Ilocos Region.

The rest of the country will experience isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by the easterlies.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters will prevail over extreme Northern Luzon and the eastern section of Luzon.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said. (PNA)
