THE low pressure area (LPA) embedded along the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) will bring rains across the archipelago, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Monday.
The LPA, last tracked 165 km. west northwest of Coron, Palawan, is unlikely to develop into a tropical cyclone within 24 hours as of 2 a.m.
However, the LPA and ITCZ will bring scattered rains and thunderstorms over Bicol Region, Mimaropa, Quezon, Rizal, Laguna, and Batangas.
Moderate to heavy rains in those areas could result in flash floods or landslides, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
The easterlies will bring isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, and Central Luzon.
The rest of the country will also experience isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the ITCZ.
Meanwhile, light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas are forecast to prevail across the country, PAGASA said. (PNA)
