THE Visayas and most areas in Luzon will experience rain showers caused by the southwest monsoon or habagat, the weather bureau said Thursday.
Occasional rains will continue to prevail in Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro and Palawan.
Moderate to heavy rains in those areas could result in flash floods or landslides, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its weather advisory.
Habagat will also bring scattered rains and thunderstorms in Metro Manila, Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, Calabarzon, Pangasinan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, and the rest of Mimaropa.
Isolated rain showers or thunderstorms are expected across the Bicol Region, the rest of Central Luzon, and the rest of the Visayas.
The rest of the country will also experience isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.
Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas still prevail across the archipelago.
Below spilling level
Meanwhile, PAGASA said that La Mesa Dam’s water level as of 5 a.m. was 79.89 meters, which is below its spilling level of 80.15 m.
PAGASA said the dam’s water level is expected to gradually decrease and would no longer affect low-lying areas along the Tullahan River.
The dam’s water level reached 80.16m on Wednesday due to continuous rains. (PNA)
