THE shear line, the northeast monsoon or “amihan” and the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) will continue to affect large portions of the country, the weather bureau said Saturday.
In its 4 a.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the shear line will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms over Mainland Cagayan, Apayao, Isabela, Aurora, and Quezon.
Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies with rains over Batanes and the Babuyan Islands.
The “amihan” will likewise bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over the Ilocos Region and the rest of Cagayan Valley and Cordillera Administrative Region.
On the other hand, cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms will prevail over the Visayas, Caraga, Davao Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, Bicol Region, and Mimaropa due to the ITCZ.
The ITCZ is also expected to bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the rest of Mindanao.
Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.
Strong to gale winds and rough to very rough seas are expected over Northern Luzon, while the eastern section of the country will experience moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas.
The rest of the country will have light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas. (PNA)
