Athlete who collapsed at Palarong Panlalawigan ‘doing well’

UPI, MAGUINDANAO DEL NORTE — The 17-year-old high jump athlete who collapsed during his event at the Palarong Panlalawigan 2025 is now in stable condition, according to a teammate.

In a Facebook post, Dexter Saliling, who captured the now-viral video of the incident, assured the public that the athlete is recovering well.

The athlete lost consciousness after landing awkwardly, hitting the ground with his head and shoulders first.

He regained consciousness after receiving first aid. Subsequent X-ray tests showed no signs of fractures.
