Ronnie Liang warns public vs fake AI video scam

SINGER Ronnie Liang has issued a public warning against a fake video circulating online that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to mimic his face and voice to lure people into crypto scams.

In a Facebook post, Liang clarified he had nothing to do with the video, which appears to show him promoting a cryptocurrency investment.

“Grabe, natakot at nabahala talaga ako sa video na ‘to,” he wrote.

According to Liang, the deepfake video has already tricked some people into giving away money, with scammers using it for various schemes like pretending to court women, both Filipino and foreign, and encouraging victims to send cash or invest in fake crypto platforms.

Liang said he has already filed a complaint and hopes the public remains vigilant against AI-generated scams.
