THE National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) is tracking down Jam Ignacio after he allegedly assaulted his fiancée, DJ Jellie Aw, during a fight inside a parked car.
Aw filed a complaint against Ignacio today before the NBI, citing violations of the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act and physical abuse.
On Wednesday, Aw took to social media to share photos of her facial injuries, sparking public outrage over the incident.
Meanwhile, the Gabriela Women’s Party strongly condemned the alleged abuse and called for immediate action.
“We call on authorities to ensure a thorough investigation and hold the perpetrator fully accountable. Justice for DJ Jellie must be swift, and systemic changes must be made to truly protect women from all forms of violence,” said Gabriela Women’s Party 1st Nominee Sarah Elago.
She also underscored the continued prevalence of violence against women despite existing laws.
“Hindi punching bag ang kababaihan. No woman should have to endure abuse, yet many continue to suffer in silence due to fear, stigma, victim-blaming, and the lack of effective support systems,” Elago added.
