MARJORIE Barretto broke her silence following Dennis Padilla’s online tirades about allegedly being mistreated during the wedding of their daughter Claudia, calling out what she described as his “drama.”
On Ogie Diaz’s YouTube channel, Marjorie defended her family and clarified that Dennis’ mother, Lina, was treated with respect during the ceremony.
“My Mama Lina (Dennis Padilla’s mother) was seated properly. Grabe ‘yung sinabi nila (Dennis’ siblings). Sabi nila inapi ‘yung nanay, hindi pinaupo ‘yung nanay. But the truth is she was seated separately from Dennis and Gene. My Mama Lina, according to the coordinator, was seated properly,” she said.
Marjorie also refuted Dennis’ claims that his mother cried and felt insulted. “Sabi ninyo (Dennis and Gene) iyak nang iyak, nainsulto, awang awa sa inyo si Dennis. She didn’t cry at all. You wouldn’t know. You didn’t even seat beside your mother during the wedding,” she said.
“To prove to you Ogie na hindi sila inapi, after the picture of Dennis with the bride and the groom and Mama Lina and Gene, nakikita kong pababa sila. Si Dennis inaakay niya si Mama maglakad. Si Dennis nasa kanan. I took her (Dennis’ mom) by the left. I met her halfway through the stairs of the altar and I walked with Mama. Para bigyan ng respeto si Mama. Kasi ‘yun ‘yung time na nakita ko siya eh. She was so happy to see me. Hindi mugto ang mata ng mother-in-law ko. She was kissing me, I was kissing her. And I was hugging her, she was hugging me. Saan ‘yung sinasabi ninyong inapi ‘yung nanay ninyo? Does she look like she was crying? Does she look like she was insulted? No.”
Marjorie then turned emotional, accusing Dennis of spoiling what was supposed to be a joyful day for their daughter. “Dennis, alam mo you are stealing the joy of my daughter in the wedding, pati ‘yung mother ninyo. Imbes na si Mama ma-enjoy niyang makita ‘yung anak mo na ikinakasal, gusto mo pang gamitin sa ano eh—sa drama.”
