SINGER Kean Cipriano is grieving the loss of his mother, Chona, whose death left him heartbroken and struggling to come to terms with her passing.
In a Facebook post over the weekend, the former Callalily frontman opened up about witnessing his mother’s suffering and the emotional weight of her final days.
“Napakasakit, nakakatakot, nakakayanig,” Kian wrote. “Napakasakit na makita kang nahihirapan. Hindi mo deserve ’yon. I’m so sorry you had to go through that pain.”
He described his deep sorrow at losing a mother who, he said, still had so much life to live and love to give.
“Sobra akong nalulungkot dahil deserve mo pang mas makilala ang sarili mo at ma-experience pa ang beauty ng buhay kasama ng mga taong mahal mo. Pero payapa ako na tapos na ang paghihirap,” he added.
Kian said he continues to feel his mother’s presence in music and nature.
“Alam kong nagpaparamdam ka sa mga kanta. Nararamdaman kita sa hangin,” he said. “Ang daming nagmamahal sa ’yo, Mommy. Pare-pareho sila ng sinasabi: ‘Napakabait ng mommy n’yo. Napakabuti ng puso.’ Walang masamang tinapay.”
The O/C Records founder thanked his mother for her unconditional love, recalling the comfort of her voice and gentle reminders to take things easy despite the pressure of work.
“‘Kean, wag ka masyado magpa-stress sa work ha. Relax ka lang,’” he recalled her saying.
“Sobrang mamimiss kita. Sobra. Yung ngiti mo. Yung boses at tawa mo, yung mga yakap at halik. Sobrang wasak puso ko ngayon, Mommy. Hindi ko pa rin matanggap,” he said.
Despite his grief, Cipriano said he will carry her love with him as he tries to move forward.
“Rest in peace, Mommy. Mahal na mahal kita.”
