KAPAMILYA actor Jake Cuenca’s dental makeover has sparked buzz online, with some netizens comparing his appearance to that of Canadian-American actor and comedian Jim Carrey in the movie “The Mask.”
Jake currently portrays a corrupt politician in the action-drama series FPJ’s Batang Quiapo. While viewers have praised his acting in the role, some have taken to social media to comment on what appears to be recent dental work, specifically, his bright, straight teeth.
Several netizens noted that Jake’s veneers or dentures have changed his facial features and, according to some, made him resemble Carrey.
Even director and screenwriter Ronaldo Carballo aired his opinion in a Facebook post, saying the actor’s appearance had noticeably changed since his first episode in the show.
“Anong nangyari kay Jake Cuenca sa Batang Quiapo? Since day 1 na lumitaw siya sa serye, pumangit na si Jake; tumanda ang itsura niya. Ang sama-sama pa ng pag-arte niya. Obvious na nagpaayos siya ng dentures. Hindi naging maganda ang epek kay Jake,” Carballo wrote.
As of posting, Jake has not responded to the comments about his appearance.
