KINILALA ng Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) ang kabayanihan ng aktor na si Gerald Anderson sa kasagsagan ng hagupit ng bagyong Carina at habagat sa Metro Manila.
Sa seremonya sa PCG headquarters nitong Huwebes, ginawaran si Gerald, isang reservist ng PCG na may ranggong auxiliary lieutenant commander, ng Search and Rescue medal ni PCG Commandant, Admiral Ronnie Gil Gavan.
Kinilala si Anderson sa pagsagip niya sa mga na-trap na residente sa Brgy. Santo Domingo, Quezon City.
Ayon kay PCG spokesperson Rear Admiral Armando Balilo, aktibong katuwang nila ang aktor aa mga humanitarian at disaster response operations.
“He is always present during the Coast Guard’s relief operations and disaster rehabilitation. He continues to help Aetas in Zambales, recovering families in Marawi, and even donated medical supplies and tents during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic,” ani Balilo.
