ACTOR Cesar Montano has expressed support for the relationship of his former wife, actress Sunshine Cruz, with businessman Atong Ang.
In an interview on Julius Babao, Cesar said he is happy for Sunshine.
“I can see that she’s happy. For a friend, when you see your friend happy, wouldn’t you be happy for them? So as long as she’s happy, then I’m happy for her enormously. Because when the mother of my children is happy, my children are happy as well,” he said.
The actor shared that he has met Ang during a birthday celebration of one of his daughters, saying the meeting was cordial.
“I knew him for a while. We talked but only briefly,” he said, adding there was no awkwardness during the encounter.
Sunshine and Atong were first rumored to be dating in 2024 after being seen together at a public event. A video of them kissing at a cockpit arena later went viral. Atong confirmed their relationship in December 2024.
Before her relationship with Atong, Sunshine was in a six-year relationship with politician Macky Mathay. They broke up in September 2022.
Cesar, meanwhile, is currently in a relationship with Socorro “Kath” Angeles, with whom he has three children: Liam, Samuel, and Kristen.
He was previously married to Marilyn Polinga and had two children with her. Their second child, Christian Angelo Manhilot, passed away in 1993. He also has children with former partners Teresa Loyzaga and Sandra Seifert.
Cesar and Sunshine were married for 13 years before their marriage was annulled in 2018. They are now co-parenting their daughters: Angelina Isabelle, Samantha Angeline and Angel Francheska.
