BB GANDANGHARI drew both praise and criticism after posting a video of her visit to a mosque in Taiwan, where she wore a hijab.
In the clip shared on Instagram, BB was seen entering the mosque before being joined by her brother, actor-senator Robin Padilla.
Some netizens took issue with BB wearing a hijab, traditionally worn by Muslim women for modesty and protection.
“Kailanman ay hindi ipinahintulot sa Islam ang pagsuot ng lalaki ng pambabaeng kasuotan upang pumasok sa mosque,” one comment read.
Others, however, welcomed BB’s presence in the mosque, emphasizing that faith is personal and that only God can judge intentions.
“Ang Allah ang higit na maalam, ang tanging nakakakita sa totoong intensyon ng ating mga puso,” one supporter wrote.
Another added: “Mashaa Allah! Ang ganda pong tingnan.”
