NAGPALABAS na ng Regional Memorandum and Department of Education Region 4A (DepEd-4A) na nag-uutos na simula ang virtual o online classes sa buong rehiyon simula sa Miyerkules, Abril 3.
Inilabas ni Regional Director Alberto Escobarte and Regional Memorandum No. 233 Series of 2024 nitong Lunes matapos umakyat sa 40 degrees Celsius ang heat index.
Ayon kay Escobarte, minabuti na nilang isailalim sa temporary Modular Distance Learning (MDL) ang eskwela para maiiwas ang mga mag-aaral at maging ang mga guro sa posibleng sakit na idulot ng matinding init ng panahon.
Anya, sinang-ayunan ng Regional Management Committee na gawing 40 degrees Celsius ang minimum threshold para sa suspensyon ng face-to-face classes at eventual adoption ng MDL.
“As temperature is unbearable and poses a health risk even without reaching the threshold, the school head may suspend the face-to-face classes and advise the adoption of MDL subject to the condition that a report be submitted to the Office of the Superintendent,” ayon sa memornadum.
