KINONDENA ng Palasyo ang pagpatay sa mamamahayag na si Jesus “Jess” Malabanan, ang pinakahuling biktima ng journalist killing sa bansa.
“We condemn in the strongest possible terms the tragic murder of Jesus ‘Jess’ Malabanan in Calbayog City,” sabi ni Acting presidential spokesperson Karlo Nograles.
Pinatay si Malabanan sa loob ng kanilang tindahan sa Calbayog City, Samar, Miyerkules ng gabi habang nanonood ng telebisyon.
Tiniyak ni Nograles na nagsasagawa na ng imbestigasyon ang Presidential Task Force on Media Security.
“It likewise urges everyone within information to come forward to authorities and cooperate with law enforcers in order to immediately bring Mr. Malabanan’s killers to justice. We condole with the family, loved ones, and colleagues of Mr. Malabanan and assure them that the government will exert all efforts to ensure that those responsible are caught, charged, and convicted for this crime,” dagdag ni Nograles.
Nagtamo si Malabanan ng isang tama ng bala sa kanyang ulo.
