HINIMOK ni Albay Rep. Joey Salceda sa Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) na maghanda na ng mga relief goods ngayon na nagpaparamdam na namang muli ang Mayon Volcano.
Ayon kay Salceda, sinulatan na niya ngayong araw ang DSWD matapos ipatupad ng Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) ang Alert Level 2 sa palibok ng bulkan.
“While the risk remains completely manageable, may we request your team’s usual alertness and prepositioning of resources for possible mobilization should there be need for evacuation and relief,” sabi ni Salceda.
Idinagdag ni Salceda na base sa karanasan, magiging matagal ang pamamalagi sa mga evacuation center ng mga bakwit sakaling magpatupad na ng paglilikas ang Phivolcs.
“As in the past, evacuation from Mayon activity can be protracted, and may require extended support from the government. I am confident that the Department, under your leadership, is prepared for such eventuality, as it has been during the competently-led relief operations for communities affected by recent natural calamities,” aniya.
