NIYANIG ng magnitude 6.4 na lindol ang Sarangani Island sa Sarangani, Davao Occidental, Miyerkules ng gabi.
Ayon sa Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), naganap ang lindol alas-7:21 ng gabi.
Nagbabala rin ang Phivolcs na asahan ang ilang aftershocks.
Naitala ang Intensity V na lindol sa Sarangani at Don Marcelino, Davao Occidental; Kiamba at Malungon, Sarangani; City of Digos, Davao Del Sur.
Intensity IV naman ay naramdaman sa General Santos City, City of Koronadal, Tupi, T’boli, Polomolok, South Cotabato; Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental; Palimbang, at Esperanza, Sultan Kudarat.
Intensity III or “weak” shaking in Alamada, Banisilan, City of Kidapawan, Magpet, Makilala, M’lang, Matalam, Pigcawayan, and Tulunan, Cotabato; Kalamansig, Lambayong, President Quirino, Senator Ninoy Aquino, and City of Tacurong, Sultan Kudarat; Lake Sebu, Tampakan, Santo Niño, and Surallah, South Cotabato.
Intensity II or “slightly felt” shaking in City Of Zamboanga; Antipas, Arakan, Libungan, qnd President Roxas, Cotabato; Bagumbayan, Sultan Kudarat; San Fernando, and Kalilangan, Bukidnon; City of Gingoog, Misamis Oriental; Tantangan, South Cotabato; Cotabato City; Datu Odin Sinsuat, and Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao Del Norte.
Intensity I or “scarcely perceptible” tremors were experienced in City of Cagayan De Oro; Pangantucan, and Cabanglasan, Bukidnon; Aleosan, Cotabato.
Phivolcs said the tremor had a depth of 139 kilometers and was tectonic in origin, which means it was caused by movement in the Earth’s crust.
