Principal in Antique tells grads to remove togas, draws mixed reactions

A GRADUATION ceremony in Laua-an, Antique turned emotional and controversial after the school principal of Col. Ruperto Abellon National School (CRANS) ordered  Senior High School students to remove their togas before the ceremony.

A viral video posted by “Devon Positive Vibes” taking the stage to explain the decision, stating, “We are teaching our students to be disciplined and diligent to authorities.”

According to the uploader, the students were excited to wear their togas, which had been approved in a prior meeting with parents.

However, some parents who missed the meeting reportedly disagreed, prompting the principal to insist that students wear long-sleeved shirts instead.

The Schools Division of Antique has since launched an investigation into the incident.
