ITINAAS na sa Alert Level 3 ang Mt. Kanlaon sa Negros Island matapos itong muling sumabog Lunes ng hapon.
Ayon Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), sumabog ang bulkan alas 3:03 ng hapon.
“The eruption produced a voluminous plume that rapidly rose 3,000 meters above the vent and drifted west-southwest. Pyroclastic density currents descended the slopes on the general southeastern edifice based on IP (internet protocol) and thermal camera monitors,” ayon sa huling bulletin ng Phivolcs.
Ang pag-alburuto ng bulkang Kanlaon ay nangyari anim na buwan ang nakalipas nang maitala ang pagsabog nito noong Hunyo 3 dahilan para ilikas ang may 9,000 pamilya mula sa 18 barangay sa limang apektadong syudad ng Bago at La Carlota at munisipalidad ng La Castellana, Moises Padilla at Pontevedra sa Negros Occidental.
Ang Alert Level 3 ay nangangahulugan na “magmatic eruption has begun that may progress to further explosive eruptions.”
“All local government units are advised to evacuate the six-kilometer radius from the summit of the volcano and must be prepared for additional evacuation if activity warrants,” pahayag pa ng Phivolcs.
