LUSOT na sa ikalawang pagbasa sa Kamara ang panukalang batas na naglalayong makapagtayo ng Virology and Vaccines Institute of the Philippines, na isa sa mga prayoridad na tinukoy ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos sa kanyang State of the Nation Address (SONA).
Nagpasalamat si Albay Rep. Joey Salceda sa kanyang mga kasamahan sa pag-apruba sa panukala.
“Since we approved it in the House early, there is enough time in the Senate to get it done this time around,” sabi ni Salceda.
Sa ilalim ng panukala, magiging research center ang institute na siyang mag-aaral sa mga virus na susulpot.
“India continues to be one of the world’s largest manufacturers of COVID vaccines even if it did not originate from them, because they have a serum institute. Vietnam solved ASF first because their serum institute invented a vaccine early on,” dagdag ni Salceda.
