MAY basbas ni Pangulong Duterte ang PDP-Laban ang party national assembly na ipinatatawag ni Energy Secretary party vice chairman Alfonso Cusi na pinipigalan naman ni party president Sen. Manny Pacquiao.
Ayon kay presidential spokesperson Harry Roque, mismong si Duterte, ang chairman ng partido, ang nag-utos kay Cusi “to organize, convene, and preside over a council meeting of its members.”
“This move, which is part of the democratic exercise, aims to consult party members and have fruitful and productive exchanges on issues affecting PDP-Laban,” ani Roque sa kalatas.
Matatandaang sinisikap ni Pacquiao na kumbinsihin ang mga miyembro ng partido na huwag dumalo sa pulong na ipinatatawag ni Cusi.
Sa memorandum, sinabi ni Pacquiao na, “said invitation letter (ni Cusi) is not sanctioned by Authorized National Council officials and violates Section 4 and Section 5, Article XVI, Constitution of the PDP Laban.”
Idinagdag niya na ang lahat ng mga ipatatawag na pulong ay kailangang may permiso mula sa sa presidente at chairman ng partido.
