NAKATAKDANG isagawa ni presumptive Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio ang kanyang panunumpa sa Davao City sa Hunyo 19.
Ito ay mas maaga sa tradisyunal na araw kung saan isinasagawa ito tuwing Hunyo 30.
Ayon sa kampo ni Duterte-Carpio, mas maaga itong gaganapin upang makadalo siya sa oath taking ni presumptive President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
“While waiting for the proclamation, I already pencilled in June 19 as the inauguration date in Davao City. The Dabawenyos’ patience made me the public servant that I am today, it is only fitting to honor them the opportunity to witness the oathtaking,” ayon kay Duterte-Carpio, sinabi ni spokesperson Christina Frasco.
“It will be conducted earlier than the traditional June 30 event because I also want to attend the oathtaking of President Marcos,” dagdag pa niya.
Ayon sa Artikulo VII, Seksyon 4 ng Konstitusyon ng 1987 ang pangulo at ang pangalawang pangulo ay ay ihahalal sa pamamagitan ng pagboto ng mga tao sa loob ng anim na taon na magsisimula sa tanghali ng ika-tatlumpung araw ng Hunyo kasunod ng araw ng halalan at magtatapos sa tanghali ng parehong petsa pagkaraan ng anim na taon.
“[They] shall be elected by direct vote of the people for a term of six years which shall begin at noon on the thirtieth day of June next following the day of the election and shall end at noon of the same date six years thereafter,” ayon sa Konstitusyon.
