SIMPLE lang ang naging sagot ni Nobel Peace laureate at Rappler CEO na si Maria Ressa sa pagbati na may pang-ookray na ginawa ng Palasyo.
“Thanks, but no thanks,” sabi ni Ressa.
Anya, may ginawang pagbati ang Malacanang ngunit sinamahan pa ito ng pagbanat sa kanya.
“I suppose, thank you, and then what I didn’t appreciate is, almost hand-in-hand, it came with a hit,” ayon sa mamamahayag nang makapanayam ng TeleRadyo.
“Hand-in-hand with that [praise] was this reminder — which is a lie — that the cyberlibel complaint is filed by an individual, and what the government repeatedly refuses to say is that it takes a government to actually file a criminal case,” dagdag pa nito.
Nitong Lunes, nagpahayag ng pagbati si Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque ng pagbati. Gayunman sinabi nito na hindi masisisi ni Ressa na hindi ikatuwa ang kanyang panalo at sabihin na hindi siya deserving dito.
Bukod pa rito, pinaalala pa ni Roque ang cyber libel case ni Ressa.
“So this is the government’s case, it’s the Department of Justice’s, it is their decision. So they should really own it. So thanks, but not thanks,” dagdag pa nito.
