MALACAÑANG has urged supporters of former president Rodrigo Duterte overseas to remain calm amid the crackdown on rallies protesting his arrest and prosecution in The Hague.
Palace Press Officer Atty. Claire Castro called on Duterte’s supporters to allow the legal process to take its course.
“Hindi lang sa mga kababayan natin sa ibang bansa kung hindi dito na rin na manatili tayo na kalmado. Hayaan natin na umandar ang batas at hustisya,” she said.
Castro also clarified that the Philippine government has no involvement in the Netherlands’ decision to tighten restrictions on demonstrations.
“Kung mayroon mang paghihigpit na nagaganap sa bansang Netherlands ay hindi na natin ito sakop,” she added.
